There was a confusion about who exactly was the Miss South Carolina in the clip that went ’round the Net a couple of days ago.
Apparently, there were two Laurens - both are very pretty, but that’s where the similarity ends. There’s Lauren Caitlin Upton, the Miss South Carolina/Internet sensation who came up with the less-than-brilliant answer at the Miss Teen USA Pageant. And then there’s Lauren Elizabeth Lytle, who is the Miss South Carolina Outstanding Teen and by all measures, a very smart and able girl as well.
Neatorama reader JOwens, Lauren Lytle’s aunt, told us that her niece is getting a lot of bad publicity because people mistakenly thought she was the one:

Once a year in Japan, a 24-hour televised charity event is held and the funds raised are sent out to various charities. This is one of the shows from the event, its the “Senju Kannon”, the 1000-hand goddess of mercy. It’s amazing.

Last month, the streets of San Francisco saw its share of robot mayhem with the 2007 Cardboard Robot Rumble!
The Cardboard Robot Rumble began at Mission Dolores Park. After scoping out territory within the Mission, the two cardboard robot armies (Valencia v. Mission) clashed on Clarion Alley. The humans eventually rose up against the robot overlords and the day was saved.

You may remember the bottle dance sequence from the movie Fiddler on the Roof. Bottle Dancers USA is a professional troupe who will perform the bottle dance or other traditional Jewish, Hebrew, Yiddish, or Klezmer dances at your wedding, bar mitzvah, or other special occasion.
