Now here’s a brilliant idea: a woman decided that she wanted to bring something special for halloween, so she packed a human skull in her checked luggage! Guess what happened next:
Tucson International Airport security were greeted with quite the surprise Wednesday morning when they discovered a human skull in a piece of checked luggage. […]
The female passenger who owned the luggage had already boarded her flight, but was pulled off by security personnel for questioning.
According to TSA, the woman says the skull was brought back by her boyfriend after his military deployment in Okinawa, Japan. The woman says she was taking the skull to Philadelphia for halloween.

…I’d love to be under the sea,
in an octopus nautilus’ garden in the shade
Here at Neatorama we love neat nautilus news. Recently we’ve brought you diving to meet a nautilus and nautilus snow sculpture but this latest contribution takes it to the next level wherever that may be.
The creative crew at Senosiain Architectos designed a sculpture perhaps taking inspiration from a certain Beatles song (although if we’re getting technical, it’s the right class- Cephalopoda- wrong subclass - Nautiloidea - their mortal enemies!). The construction involves steel reinforced chicken wire with several inches thick concrete spread over to create smooth curved surfaces, resembling the internal abode of a snail.
The house located in Mexico city and currently occupied by an open-minded family, though some hermit crabs have been eyeing it out as a potential future residence.
Check out more of these amazing abodes at Habitat Organico including a serpent and shark!

I don’t know about you “my friends” but wasn’t McCain’s remark showing a lack of respect towards Sen. Obama when he said “Who voted for it? You might never know — that one,” gesturing at Obama. “Who voted against it? Me.” ? Was it intentional and disrespectful? Was it unintentional? Or was it racist? You be the judge.

In today’s Lunchtime Quiz at mental_floss, try to remember when ten featured bands or musical groups released their debut albums. Was it in the 60s or the 70s? I am ashamed to say I only scored 90%, considering I was a radio disc jockey for 24 years. Link

Visne saltare? Viam Latam Fungosam scio.
That’s how you say “Do you want to dance? I know the Funky Broadway.” in Latin. Courtesy of MIT, you can learn how to say handy Latin phrases such as:
Is that a scroll in your toga, or are you just happy to see me?
The designated hitter rule has got to go.
Gag me with a spoon!
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
