Cheese Rolling 2007

Crazy.
A collection of head-over-heels video clips from the 2007 Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling and Wake from www.SoGlos.com. Every year daring competitors throw themselves down an almost vertical hill in Gloucester, UK, chasing an 8lb Double Gloucester Cheese. It can never really be caught as it reaches breakneck speeds but the first person to cross the line at the bottom of the hill wins the cheese. Thousands of spectators turn out for the event each year and, unsurprisingly, there are usually a good few injuries. Thankfully St John’s Ambulances are on hand to whisk the casualties away to the local hospital.

Fotofrog’s high speed photography

Tired of the same old objects around you? Shoot them to pieces for the sake of art!
High speed, or “flash” photography is an art, widely used in scientific research, which also has a dedicated following among those wanting to “blow things apart” in the most elegant way possible. -LMS-
It’s not easy to come up with a perfect shot… consider 1200ft/sec average speed of a bullet, plus a synchronizing laser, hi-tech flash setup and a fancy camera-work. Stefan, a.k.a. Fotofrog has a gorgeous set, where fruits and some vegetables get blown to smithereens, together with some tableware:

There is Justice After All: $54 Million Pants Lawsuit Thrown Out.

The $54 million pants (Photo: Jacquelyn Martin/AP)
Here’s an update on the case of the $54 million pants, which we posted before:
A Washington, D.C., judge Monday threw out a $54 million lawsuit against a dry cleaner accused of losing a pair of trousers. The case got worldwide attention as the worst example in years of unfettered litigiousness, in the view of some lawyers.
"The court rejected a case that clearly had no merits, that was outrageous and ridiculous from the outset," says Bill Schulz of the American Association for Justice, representing trial lawyers.
